I would like to add to the domain name DNS entries like MX records for email, A records, TXT records, forwarding to other DNS servers, etc. Should I contact the Registry?

For all the above DNS entries and functions, the registrar/owner or the technical administrator of the domain name, you should contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
