The Registry .cy informs that the payment process for domain name registrations has changed, in accordance with a new provision in our Decree 296/2022.

More specifically, to submit a new application/request for domain name registration, the relevant fee (which is according to the registration period chosen by the user) will be first placed on hold from the user’s credit card account.

Upon evaluation of the application/request by the Registry .cy, the hold amount:

• will be deducted from the user’s credit card account and payment will be completed, in the case of application/request approval
• will be released back to the user’s credit card account, in the case of application/request rejection or cancellation
